The Alex Drasein Memorial Concert

The concert is a tribute to Alex Drasein, concertmaster of the Paul Whiteman Orchestra at the 1924 premiere of George Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue. Mr. Alterman will be playing Drasein's violin and presenting some results of his research into the career of this remarkable violinist, who was his great uncle by marriage. The concert will include an arrangement of Rhapsody in Blue.
Celebrations of the Rhapsody in Blue centennial are continuing this year with performances of Gershwin's music all over the world.
Admission: A $10 contribution per adult would be appreciated. There is no required admission fee.
